Uganda: Supporting Children Through Their Cancer Treatment Journey

In Uganda, Paul Junior and his club recently visited Bless a Child Foundation, a home that supports children undergoing or awaiting chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The visit was an opportunity to spend time with the children and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by families navigating cancer treatment.
For many families, accessing treatment involves more than attending hospital appointments. Long distances, transport costs, accommodation and time away from home can create significant barriers to care.
The experience reinforced Paul Junior and his club's commitment to advocating for radiotherapy that is not only available but genuinely accessible to every child who needs it.
Their visit highlights an important message at the heart of World Radiotherapy Awareness Day: improving access to cancer treatment means understanding and addressing the challenges patients and their families face beyond the hospital.
